Sun X Group use a simple formula for the execution strategy, if all the following functions have been implemented the project will be cleared by HQ and the project will be released for implementation:
- The project team must be adequately staffed with seasoned professionals
- There must be a detailed and integrated project plan with stakeholders’ approval
- Only world-class project controls will be used (cost, schedule, material, reports etc)
- A constructability review must be factored into the timeline at an early stage
- Key construction and start-up personnel must be on site early to take charge of the project
- Establish a close relationship with the work force, unions and local officials
- There must be a good quality EHS program
- The project manager must accurately report to an engaged executive steering committee
- A local legal representation must be established prior to implementation
This simple formula is not exhaustive; dependant on the site location and other influences, further guidelines will be enforced prior to deployment of staff.
